Added the unique lease ID to the loan selection popup cells in the note linked to JI working paper.
Addition of totals to the units column for "Comparison of cost to market value ","Summary of disposals during the year" and "Specified foreign property summary (table FM1).
Added net assets statement format C. This will address situations where clients wish to use the 9 column financials set to CY/PY total with option to break out funds in the statement of net assets.

KN & KO
One & Two column generic note modules have been updated to include support for indented sub-headings, line spaces, and subtotals.
Marketable Securities
We have updated the marketable securities working paper foreign property summaries to include the gain (loss) and income for part 6 of T1135. Note that we will not be summarizing securities by country code (part 7) as this requires the maximum fair market value during the year (not maximum cost).
AgriStability Numbers
The farm masters have been updated to include AgriStability numbers in group 5 along with related automatic CaseWare documents. A BIG thanks to Brenda from Best Roest & Co LLP for sharing this with us city slickers. Administrators can download the farm maps file from our Snackbar to bring in the groups, updated map structure and automatic CaseWare documents into your farm engagements and master file.

Added support for subtotals and indented subheadings to all sections of all schedules. Section heading have been converted to input cell to allow right mouse click to insert at start of that section. The subtotal in lower section also has right mouse click to insert at first position below this line.

IS- 2 Year Income Statement:
We have added the option to insert indented subheadings and subtotals to the 2 year income statement at any location. We also added a right mouse click menu to section titles (trade sales, cogs, fees, expenses, other income, income taxes and discontinued operations) so that lines can be inserted at the top of that section.

MAJOR UPDATE: 9 Column Statements & Schedules:
9 Column Statements can be multi-year:
9 Column Statement entities can be combined:
Increased number of available columns from 4 to 9 (7 columns when CY/PY totals selected).
Column settings now located in the home menu rather than top of statement. Column settings are now saved upon update from the Resource Centre:
If CY total column settings are set to "As Selected", the foreign exchange, discrete, type and bucket can be set for individual columns:
Support for portrait or landscape orientation. Support for letter and legal paper size. Both set automatically depending on number of columns selected, but can also be adjusted manually:
Users can now click anywhere on the row for express menu options. Express buttons are still available to the right of the row:
2x drill-down is available on all linked amounts in columns 1-9. If totals only are selected, users can 2x click on totals for drill-down information:
Additional features to note:
Option to include a total column for current and prior year. If only CY/PY total is selected, amounts are linked to either notes or link information shown to the right.
Columns can be set to different periods when CY total is switched off (Eg. A 5 year statement). When CY total is enabled, they follow the settings of CY total by default (setup for entities).
PY total column pulls amounts from CY total column on roll-forward.
Selected rounding accounts are now saved on update from Resource Centre.
Users can select which column is to be bolded (or have none at all). Selected bold column is retained on update from Resource Centre.
Column headings remain display on screen as user scrolls down statement.
9 Column Income Statement:
When the structure is set to "Not for Profit" the statement changes in net assets can be added to the bottom of the revenues and expenditures statement by switching off the net assets statement in the table of contents:
9 columns can link directly to the same column within the 9 column IS schedules. The CY/PY total columns can also link to other schedule types which only present 2 years when IS is set to CY/PY totals only:

9 Column Balance Sheet:
Option to include either a budget or transition column. Budget column must be selected in the column settings for the toggle to appear at the top of the balance sheet:
Users can now adjust spacing between the bottom of the balance sheet and the signature area:
Option to insert line spaces added:
Added 2x click to linked schedules for schedule reference and amounts coming from schedules.
9 Column Cash Flow Statement:
The comparative period is set at top of the statement. First period is set in column settings in the home menu. The CMP button in the home menu column settings jumps you down to the comparative period settings:
When set to indirect method, not CY/PY totals only, if the "Changes in none cash working capital" folder is close, a separate page will appear listing the changes:
This statement can only link to the Cash flow note if CY/PY total only is selected.
If only CY/PY total is selected, amounts are linked to either cash flow note/working papers or link information shown to the right.
9 Column IS Schedules:
Improved column selection control panel for each schedule. Settings now retained on update of Resource Centre (eg. Bold column selected). New buttons for quick column selection:
2x drill-down is available on all linked amounts in columns 1-9. If totals only are selected, the users can 2x click on totals for drill-down information:
Updated to support the new 9 column statements. New consistent layout allows for proper linkage to the statements. Able to use linkage on the right when Totals CY/PY are selected:
Financial Statements Home Menu:
Admin area includes button to switch between 2 year and 9 column financial statements:
Rounding section updated to support 9 column financial statements. When set to CY/PY totals only, CY total column includes a rounding account. When any column from 1-9 is selected, the rounding is done in that column and totalled in the CY total column.
"Entity referred to as" is set automatically based on the structure selected.

Modified default note for proper linkage to the new balance sheet. Note that all amounts are shown as long term (receivable/payable). To split between current and long term, must use detailed note.

Added section to the bottom of "Reconciliation of income tax expense format 2" note showing taxable income at small business rate and general rate:
Cash Flow Notes:
Modified to support new 9 column cash flow statement. Note is only available when CY and PY totals only are selected in the 9 column statements.
Significant Accounting Policies Note
Replaced all instances of CICA with CPA Canada. Replaced all instances of Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants with Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
Share Capital Note
Adjusted spacing between columns within the Share Capital/Redemption schedule to accommodate amounts in the millions.
All Letters:
Added support for a global setting for draft stamp. The global switch is located in the Diagnostics Report:
Added option to adjust spacing between end of letterhead and beginning of letter from None to 2.5". Option appears in the document properties section.

MAJOR UPDATE- Loan & Lease Calculator
- Specify compounding periods and payment intervals (daily, weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual).
- Added support for interest only and fixed principle loans.
- Accommodates Canadian mortgage calculations.
- Payments can either be calculated, taken from the working paper, or overridden to the desired amount.
- Specify balance outstanding at the end of the current fiscal period if regular payments were made but interest rate was floating.
- Specify total number of payments over the term of the loan if not the same as calculated.
- Specify total number of payments in the current fiscal period if not the same as calculated.
- Separated 'calculate' and 'transfer' buttons so that the working paper will show the amounts calculated before the user has to transfer the amounts to the working paper.
Long Term Debt, Callable Debt, Capital Leases, Loans and Notes Receivable Working Papers
- Added support for the improved Loans & Lease Calculator.
- Improved Diagnostics- When the number of rows are greater in the working paper than the Resource Centre module, a warning appears when updated the working paper indicating which groups will be affected and how many rows will be lost unless added to the Resource Centre.
- New option to insert 5 and 10 loans/leases at a time instead of only one.
Capital Asset and Intangible Asset Working Papers
- Improved Diagnostics- When the number of rows are greater in the working paper than the Resource Centre module, a warning appears when updated the working paper indicating which groups will be affected and how many rows will be lost unless added to the Resource Centre.
- Added option to select a CCA class for the group and determine whether the selected rate will automatically set the group rate.
- Added option to change heading on cost recoveries column to salvage value or ITC.
- Increased the number of supported groups per working paper from 20 to 40.
- Revised "Show All Groups" popup menu in freeze frame to retain current selection on update of Resource Centre.
Prepaid Expenses and Deferred Income Working Papers
- Improved diagnostics- When the number of rows is greater in the working paper than the RC module, a warning appears when updating the working paper indicating which groups will be affected and how many rows will be lost unless added to the RC.
Materiality Guidelines Working Paper
- Revised to reflect information required for a Review Engagement.
- New section added for "Final Materiality Assessments"
- Modified section "Materiality for this engagement" by providing lines for previous period materiality and preliminary materiality along with commentary for each.
- No longer used for an Audit Engagement. Please use JI Checklists package CPEM or PPM for an audit.
Client Enclosure Letter
- Updated the threshold for GST quarterly installments from $1,500 to $3,000.
GST Simplified Method Working Paper
- Updated the quick method threshold from $200,000 to $400,000.
Marketable Securities Working Papers
- Added support for "Specified Foreign Property" per CRA form T1135 which requires the taxpayer to disclose the maximum cost amount during the year for each security.
Diagnostics Report Working Paper
- New section added at the top of the document to set default settings for the working paper references roll forward and draft stamp. This affects all letters and working papers in that engagement.
- New section added to the top of the document which shows documents missing role sign-offs.
Significant Accounting Policies Note
- Added "Basis of Presentation - introduction to policies" policy.
- Added "Net assets" Not for Profit policy.
- Added "Goods and Services Tax" Not for Profit policy.
- Updated the "Contributed Services" policy.
- Discontinued differential reporting policy and introduction to policies other than differential reporting.
Obligations Under Capital Lease Note
- Modified note linked to Jazzit working paper so when "thereafter" is not selected, interest shown only relates to the next 5 years.
Marketable Securities Note
- Added check box to toggle the optional line show cost at the bottom of the note.
- Added option to show details by brokerage firm.
- Added feature to insert subtotals into either the securities detail or broker summary version of the note linked to working paper.
Description of Business Note
- Updated wording to provide more options for different entity types including Not for Profit.
Long Term Debt Note
- Added a loan number to more easily identify the loan to the working paper.
Management's Responsibility Schedule
- Formatted the heading to be consistent with the engagement report. Added additional spacing above and lines around the heading options.

Client Enclosure Letter:
Option of specifying between Paper and Electronic copy for enclosures has been added to the top of the letter.
Additional options have been added to Management Bonus section of the letter. You are now able to choose between
"Next 180 days bonus" / "Annual Bonus" and "We file T4" / "Client Files T4".
Additions have been made to the text within Federal and Provincial Corporate Tax to accommodate online filing.
Schedules Menu:
Added right mouse menu option to update schedule or pull same schedule from another financial statement to the
delete button for all schedules.
Statements:
All statements will now only allow you to change manually inserted lines into subheading lines if there are no values
already entered into the line.

Daniela has been able to remain active in her community, through volunteer involvement with Four Feet Companion Foundation and Haskayne School of Business, while successfully completing the 2013 UFE and placing on the 2013 UFE National Honour Roll as one of the top 50 students in Canada based on UFE results.

Due to(from) Related Parties Note:
The old “Due to (from) related parties – Detailed disclosure” note had a Sort button which allowed sorting of the Related Party Transactions. A second Sort button has been added, which allows sorting of the Related party transactions section to moved to below or above the Due to (from) sections.
New feature added:
Allows for inserting a Note from a Financial Statement template in another CaseWare file (added to the options available in the Express Button right-click Menu options as seen below.
When selected, the User is prompted to selected the CaseWare file to copy the note from, select the FS module to copy from and the corresponding Note, in the selected Source FS is displayed in a comparison window and allows you to select “Replace”, to copy in the Note, replacing the Note in the Current FS.
GST/HST Reconciliation - Detailed Method & Client Invoice:
PST rate for Manitoba has been updated from 7.0% to 8.0%.
The clean-shaven men of Jazzit have decided to don moustaches for the month of Movember. Mike challenged the men deprived of facial hair (Josh and Adam already sport fashionable beards) to see who could grow the best ‘stache during the month in memory of a good friend he lost to cancer earlier in the year. The following updates are included in the October 29, 2013 Jazzit Fundamentals update:
Accounts Payable Control & Accounts Payable Confirmation: These working papers now support 51 company entries. You are able to input company details, dates, and amounts to be paid in the Accounts Payable Control working paper. You are then able to choose between these entries in the Accounts Payable Confirmation via a drop down menu.
Accounts Receivable Control: These working papers now support 51 companies, increased from 21.
Property, Plant, and Equipment Schedule & Property, Plant, and Equipment Note: These two modules now have properly corresponding amortization rates.
1-9 column Income Statement Schedule & 1-3 year statements: When choosing forecasting in the column field 'Type', these column headers now display the appropriate year depending on how many years into the future is selected in the 'Year' field.
All statements: Manual lines have been updated to print regardless of if they have information inputted.
